Springfield, Mo. - Columbia College men's soccer delivered a dominant 4-0 performance in their opening conference match against Mission Univeristy on Tuesday evening. The Cougars advance to 5-4-2 overall and 1-0 in conference.
Brady Freeman led the way with two goals, opening the scoring in the 16th minute and adding his second in the 87th minute off an assist from
Cooper Allen.
After taking a 1-0 lead into halftime, the Cougars offense tacked on three goals within the final 26 minutes.
Parker Rainwater made it 2-0 in the 65th minute on a feed from
Cameron Watts, who then assisted
Lindo Zimba in the 86th minute.
The Cougars dominated throughout the game, out shooting Mission 22-3 and holding an 18-1 advantage in shots on goal.
Cameron Watts orchestrated the attack with two assists, while Mission goalkeeper Jordon Shaw made 14 saves in the losing effort.
Columbia will look to remain in the win column going into the next match at home on Saturday, Oct. 11th at 2:30 p.m.
