CONWAY, Ark. - The Columbia College men's basketball team took their seventh loss of the season this evening against No. 18 Central Baptist College (Ark.), 97-76.
The Cougars move to 20-7 on the season and 13-4 in the American Midwest Conference (AMC).
Central Baptist got the contest started with a 9-2 run and continued to bring their energy throughout the remainder of the game.Â
Seth Larson led the Cougars with nine points in the first half of play, while
Collin Parker added seven points.
The Mustangs held a 54-35 advantage into the half.
Central Baptist shot a game-high of 60 percent from the field in the first half of play, while Columbia shot 48 percent from the field.
With 15:11 left in the contest, the Mustangs took their largest lead. There was no turning back as Central Baptist escaped Columbia 97-76 in the AMC showdown.
The Cougars had nearly double the turnovers of the Mustangs with 17 in the contest. Central Baptist used that to their advantage, collecting 30 points off turnovers.`
Collin Parker led Columbia with 19 points (2-2 3PT), bringing down nine rebounds.
Kai Steinman followed with 14 points.
Columbia wraps up regular season action on senior day as they host Missouri Baptist University on February 22 at 3:00 p.m.
