O'Fallon, MO – The Columbia Cougars wrapped up play in the American Midwest Conference (AMC) tournament today, splitting a doubleheader at Carshield Field. They cruised to a victory over Mission University in the opener but fell to Missouri Baptist in a seven-inning game.
The Cougars will now look to the NAIA Opening Round from May 12-15 and will learn their assignment on May 7th during the selection show. 
Columbia 10, Mission University 1
Columbia overwhelmed Mission University with 15 hits, including six doubles and two home runs. Brayden McGinnis went 2-for-5 with a homer and an RBI, while Jack Matousek went 2-for-5 with two RBIs. Chase McKague added a two-run homer, finishing 1-for-4. Pierce Hartmann dominated on the mound, pitching eight innings, allowing one run on four hits, and striking out 11. Stetson Marion closed with a scoreless ninth. Mission University's Braxton Montgomery hit a solo homer, but the Eagles struggled with four hits and 11 strikeouts. A six-run seventh, sparked by McGinnis, Hunter Shoulta, and McKague, sealed Columbia's win, improving their record to 40-8, while Mission University dropped to 34-18.
Missouri Baptist 16, Columbia 5
Missouri Baptist's offense erupted for 13 hits, led by James Jett's grand slam and five RBIs. Jack Matousek went 2-for-3 with a homer and three RBIs, while Chase McKague and Tyler Renn each had two hits. With the loss, Columbia falls to 41-9.
