Cougars Wrap Up Play in Indiana

MARION, Ind. - The Columbia College volleyball team fell to MidAmerica Nazarene in straight sets (13-25, 20-25, 18-25) on Friday afternoon at Luckey Arena, moving to 0-3 on the season.

The Cougars will return to Columbia on Wednesday August, 27th for their home opener against William Penn University at 5:30 pm. 

Samira Baltazar led the Cougars' offensive attack with six kills and two digs, while Jordan Starkey anchored the defense with 13 digs. Hannah Vogt distributed 13 assists and added four digs and a service ace in the setting role.

Columbia showed its potential in the second set, battling to an 18-18 tie behind strong play from Mila Zoric (two kills) and Emma Breier (two kills). Isabella Kincaid contributed three kills and five digs, while Alexa Olson provided eight assists and a service ace.

The Cougars jumped out to an early 4-2 lead in the third set with a service ace from Taylor Johnson.

Viola Giangreco added three kills to the offensive effort, and Nazarena Avila chipped in two kills as Columbia spread the attack across multiple players. Kenedi Canty battled at the net with three kills throughout the match.
