Chickasha, OK - The Columbia College men's soccer team battled back from multiple deficits but settled for a 5-5 draw against the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma on Friday evening at McLaughlin Field.
The Drovers struck early and often, taking a 2-0 lead in the first 20 minutes of the contest.
The Cougars responded before halftime when Josh Sutton found the back of the net in the 38th minute, assisted by Cooper Allen, cutting the deficit to 2-1 at the break.
USAO extended their lead to 3-1 early in the second half, but Columbia College mounted an impressive comeback effort.
Cameron Watts sparked the rally with his first goal of the season in the 58th minute, assisted by Joshua Peterson.
Sutton then leveled the match at 3-3 with his second goal of the game in the 65th minute.
Watts put the Cougars ahead 4-3 with another goal in the 78th minute, and Brady Freeman appeared to secure the victory with a strike in the 83rd minute, assisted by Allen.
However, USAO managed a late equalizer in the 87th minute to force the 5-5 draw.
The Cougars recorded 14 shots in the contest while USAO also finished with 14. Caden Hof made three saves in goal for Columbia College.
