Hillsboro, Kan. - The Cougars of Columbia College earned their first win of the season with a four-set victory over the Bluejays of Tabor College on Wednesday night at Tabor College Gymnasium.

After taking the first set 25-18, the Cougars maintained their momentum in the second set, overcoming multiple lead changes to secure a 25-22 victory and take a commanding 2-0 match lead.

In the third set, Tabor fought back with strong offensive play as the Bluejays used consistent attacking to steal the set 27-25 and extend the match.

The fourth set belonged to Columbia as they jumped out to an early 4-0 lead and never looked back, closing out the match with a 25-21 victory.

Viola Giangreco led the Cougars with 10 kills and a .200 hitting percentage.

Isabella Kincaid followed with ten kills and a match-high 14 digs.

Hannah Vogt finished with 24 assists, while Alexa Olson added 20.

Taylor Johnson contributed two service aces and 12 digs.

Defensively, Rita Marques added 11 digs to help anchor the Cougar back row.
