COLUMBIA, Mo. - The (RV) Columbia College women's basketball team celebrated senior day in style, dominating Central Baptist College (Ark.) 95-61 at home to improve to 25-1 overall and 16-0 in the American Midwest Conference (AMC). Before the contest, seniors Lexi Miller, Mya Miller, Lexi Rubel, and Deborah Hawkins were recognized for their contributions to the program.
Columbia set the tone early, jumping out to a 19-12 first-quarter lead behind strong shooting from the field. The Cougars extended their advantage in the second quarter, outscoring the Mustangs 26-13 to take a commanding 45-25 lead into halftime. Columbia maintained their dominance after the break, putting up 25 points in both the third and fourth quarters while shooting an impressive 50.7 percent from the field for the game and holding Central Baptist to just 36.1%.
Ashtyn Klusmeyer and Lexi Miller each poured in 23 points to pace Columbia's balanced attack, while Mya Miller added 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for a double-double.
Columbia dominated in the paint (48-30), forced 17 turnovers, and converted those into 19 points. The bench also made an impact, outscoring Central Baptist's reserves 19-2.
Columbia returns to action against cross-town opponent, Stephens College (Mo.) on February 19 at 5:30 p.m.
