St. Louis, Mo. – The Columbia College women's basketball team completed its fifth undefeated American Midwest Conference (AMC) season in program history with a 100-75 win at University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy on Saturday in St. Louis.
Columbia won its 16th-straight game to improve to 27-1 and a perfect 18-0 in the American Midwest Conference (AMC), while UHSP dropped its third-straight contest and fell to 13-15 overall and 10-8 in AMC play.
Ashtyn Klusmeyer led five Cougars in double figures with 22 points, while
Lexi Miller (18),
Macie Harman (14),
Lexi Rubel (13), and
Mya Miller (12) also scored in double figures. Columbia shot 49.3 percent (34-of-69) from the field in the win and dominated points in the paint 38-16.
Lexi Miller connected on four threes in the win and tied the CC all-time program record. Miller's wing three with 6:05 left in the fourth quarter was the 273
rd of her career.
The Cougars used a 15-0 run midway through the first quarter to take control, building a 22-12 advantage behind two three-pointers from Klusmeyer and another from
Lauren Friedrich. Columbia led 27-18 after one, as Klusmeyer poured in 11 points and the Cougars shot 4-of-6 from beyond the arc in the opening frame.
Lexi Miller's wing three highlighted a 9-0 run as the lead grew to 41-23 with 5:45 left in the second quarter. Back-to-back buckets from
Lexi Rubel pushed the lead to 47-26, and the Cougars led 56-32 at halftime.
Klusmeyer had 17 points to lead the Cougars, while
Lexi Miller added 10. Columbia shot 57.1 percent (20-35) from the field in the first half, including 6-of-11 from beyond the arc.
The Cougars used an 11-0 run midway through the third quarter to extend the advantage to 74-40, and led 84-48 entering the fourth.
Aryanna Bull (21 points), Reece Halley (17), Sara Hameed (12) and Analyssa Maldonado (12) scored in double figures for UHSP, which shot 37.0 percent (27-of-73) in the loss.
The Cougars take on Cottey College in the first round of the 2026 AMC Tournament on Thursday, Feb. 26 at the W.E. Dowell Fieldhouse in Springfield, Mo. Tip-off is set for Noon.
