Columbia, Mo. - No. 24 Columbia College women's soccer improved to 3-0-0 on the season with a 7-2 win over Park at R. Marvin Owens Field on Saturday, August 29.
Columbia set the tone early, scoring twice in the first 90 seconds. Katie McCarthy opened the scoring in the 1st minute off a short corner, assisted by Georgia Pardalos, and Pardalos struck right back 21 seconds later on a Macie Vincent assist off a turnover.
Pardalos put the game further out of reach with two more goals in the second half — first in the 64th minute off an Ella Bredensteiner assist, then a minute later flipping the connection with Bredensteiner assisting Pardalos — completing her hat trick, the second of her career. Bredensteiner also scored in between (64th minute) for a goal of her own.
Park found the net twice late, with Lilli Porsche scoring in the 67th minute (assist Hailey Peters) and Preslee Zeigler adding an unassisted goal in the 85th, but Columbia answered with two more of their own from Macie Vincent and Rowyn Blanke to close out the 7-2 final.
Charlie Williams earned the win in goal, making one save, while Abbie Summers stopped one shot in relief.
