COLUMBIA, Mo. — The No. 17-ranked Columbia College women's soccer improved to 6-1-3 with a dominant 7-0 win over Dakota State on Thursday at R. Marvin Owens Field. Goalkeeper Charlie Williams and Abbie Summers combined for a clean sheet, stopping all four shots on goal they faced.
Georgia Pardalos got things started just under four minutes in, finishing off an assist from Leah Rosenberg for her 9th goal of the season. Ella Bredensteiner made it 2-0 in the 12th minute off a team-assisted feed from Brooke Williams, and Ayanna Clarke capped the first-half surge with an unassisted goal in the 32nd minute to send Columbia into the break up 3-0.
The Cougars kept the pressure on after halftime. Pardalos struck again in the 49th minute for her 10th goal of the season, assisted by Macie Vincent and Bredensteiner. Bredensteiner returned the favor moments later, scoring her 10th on an assist from Rowyn Blanke — and Blanke wasted no time adding her own goal just 10 minutes later. Blanke completed her brace in the 70th minute off an assist from Madison Lieberoff to round out the scoring.
Columbia dominated the shot chart 33-7 and controlled the game from start to finish.
The Cougars open American Midwest Conference (AMC) play on Saturday, Oct. 3 at the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy (Mo.) in St. Louis. Kickoff is set for 12:00 p.m.
