Columbia Shuts Out Indiana Northwest, 4-0

EAST CHICAGO, Ind. — Columbia rolled to a 4-0 road win over Indiana Northwest on Monday, getting two goals apiece from Georgia Pardalos and Ella Bredensteiner while Charlie Williams turned in the shutout in net.

The Cougars set the tone early, controlling possession and generating chance after chance before finally breaking through in the 18th minute. Pardalos opened the scoring at the 17:53 mark for her sixth goal of the season. Bredensteiner doubled the lead at the 26:00 mark, finishing off a feed from Grace Moresi. Pardalos struck again just before halftime, converting a Macie Vincent assist at 34:55 to make it 3-0 heading into the break.

Columbia didn't let up after the intermission. Less than a minute into the second half, Bredensteiner buried her second of the day — and fifth of the season — at 45:52 to put the game out of reach at 4-0.

Indiana Northwest picked up its shot volume in the second half but still couldn't solve the Columbia defense. The Cougars outshot the Redhawks 28-12 overall (14-7 on goal) for the match, with Bredensteiner (6 shots, 5 on frame) and Rowyn Blanke (7 shots) leading the attack.

In goal, Williams went the full 90 minutes, stopping all five shots she faced to secure the shutout. Kaleigh Blatti took the loss for Indiana Northwest, making four saves on eight shots faced.

Columbia improves to 4-1-1 on the season, while Indiana Northwest falls to 4-2-0.
