Cougar women improve to 4-1 in AMC

Box Score Columbia, Mo. - The Cougar women's soccer team posted its second victory in as many nights with a 12-1 victory over American Midwest Conference (AMC) opponent Williams Baptist (Ark.) College on Friday night. With the win, Columbia improves to 7-2-1 overall and 4-1 in conference play.

Six different Cougar players netted a goal in the opening period and Columbia took a 7-0 lead into the halftime break after posting 15 shots in the frame. The Cougars tacked on five goals over the final 45 minutes and the Eagles picked up a score in the 86th minute to avoid the shutout.

Stephanie Hale, MacKenzie Knepper, and Flavia Rosado each recorded two goals for Columbia and Taylor Hagenhoff contributed three assists. Erica Ramirez earned the win in goal, her fifth of the season.

The Cougars will hit the road for their next contest on Tuesday, October 1st when they travel to AMC newcomer Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) University. Game time is set for 5:00 p.m. in Henderson, Tenn.
