Box Score Walnut Ridge, Ark. – The Columbia College women's soccer team captured its seventh American Midwest Conference (AMC) victory today, as the team defeated Williams Baptist College 10-0. With the victory, the Cougars advance to 7-4-1 on the season and 7-0-0 in AMC play, while the Eagles fall to 2-11-1 and 1-7-1 in league play.
The Cougars put on a dominating display this afternoon, as they had six different players score a goal and amassed 38 shots (25 on goal) in the match-up.
Freshman,
Tiffany Weaver, got the Cougars on the board first, as she scored her third goal of the season, at the 2
nd minute mark from teammate
Tori Magaletta giving Columbia a 1-0 lead.
Columbia's,
Kelly Ross, got into the action at the 18
th minute with her fourth goal of the season, extending the Cougars lead 2-0.
Taylor Hagenhoff assisted on the goal. Within the next two minutes of play, Magaletta and Columbia's leading scorer,
Laurie Frew netted a pair of goals, giving the Cougars a 4-0 lead. Less than three minutes later Magaletta added her second goal of the day giving the Cougars a 5-0 advantage and pushing her total to three goals on the season.

Hannah Baptiste in the 32
nd minute to round out the Cougars first half scoring.
The Eagles would keep Columbia scoreless the rest of the half, despite being outshot 19 to zero.
In the second half of the match-up it was more Cougar offense.
Taylor Goddard picked up her third goal of the season in the 63
rd to give the Cougars a 7-0 lead over the Eagles. In the 66
th and 68
th minute, Baptiste logged two goals for her first hat trick of the season when she found the back of the net twice. Frew added her second goal of the game in the 73
rd minute after connecting with
Katelyn Palmer to end the scoring for the Cougars.
Columbia College dominated defensively, allowing zero shots from the Eagles.
Flavia Rosado earns the shutout in goal.
The Columbia College Cougars claimed both honors for the American Midwest Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week awards handed out on Monday.
The Cougars'
Kelly Ross picked up AMC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week accolades, and
Laurie Frew was tabbed as the AMC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. The pair were honored for their play in matches from Oct. 5-13.
Ross, a junior forward from Moberly, Mo., had a productive week in leading Columbia to a pair of victories. Ross collected two goals for four total points as the Cougars swept the competition. She started the week with the lone goal in a 1-0 win over William Woods University, and followed with a goal in the Cougars' 2-0 decision at home against Missouri Baptist University. Ross currently leads the Cougars with 39 shots (3.25 per game) and 18 shots on goal (1.50 per game).
Frew, a freshman from Columbia, Mo., typically playing as an attacking midfielder/forward, took on a different role for the Cougars this week playing as a holding defensive midfielder. Frew played a huge defensive role in the pair of shutout wins allowing the competition only six total shots on goal. Frew has posted a team high eight goals on the season.
The Cougar women return to the field Sunday, Oct. 19
th when they travel to Batesville, Ark. to take on Lyon College. Match time is set for 1:00 p.m.
