Columbia’s Rosado Claims AMC Accolades

Box Score Columbia, Mo. - Flavia Rosado of the Cougar women's soccer team has been selected as this week's recipient of the American Midwest Conference (AMC) Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. Rosado is receiving the honor for the first time this year and is the first Columbia player to take home the award this season.

Rosado, a sophomore goalkeeper from Juiz de Fora, Brazil helped anchor the Cougars' defensive efforts in their two matches last week. Flavia was in goal for both victories over Lindenwood University-Belleville and Benedictine University at Springfield. She had two saves in the Cougars' 4-1 victory over Lindenwood-Belleville on Tuesday night and had four saves in the 2-1 win over Benedictine-Springfield. With the wins, Columbia takes sole possession of first place in the conference standings with a league mark of 4-0-0. For the year, Rosado has posted 42 saves (4.67 per game) and has played in all nine games for the Cougars.

Columbia (4-4-1) will return to the field Wednesday, October 8 when they travel to Fulton, Mo. to take on the Owls of William Woods. Game time is set for 5:00 p.m.
