Box Score Columbia, Mo. – The Columbia women's soccer team posted a 10-0 shutout victory over conference foe Harris-Stowe State (Mo.) University at home tonight. With the win, the Cougars improve to 2-4-1 overall and 2-0 in American Midwest Conference (AMC) play. The Hornets fall to 2-7-1 overall and 3-2 in league play.
The Cougars led the host squad 8-0 at halftime.
Laurie Frew put Columbia on the board in the twelfth minute, putting in a pass from
Jordan Poire.
Tiffany Weaver added goal number two in the 17th minute, and
Hannah Baptiste made the score 3-0 in the 20th minute off an assist from
Katelyn Palmer. In the 24th minute,
Tori Magaletta headed the ball into the net off a corner kick by
Katelyn Palmer.
Laurie Frew recorded her second goal two minutes later thanks to assists by
Hannah Baptiste and
Tori Magaletta.
Hannah Baptiste booted in her second goal in the 36th minute and
Taylor Goddard wrapped up the scoring in the first half with two goals in the last 10 minutes.
In the second half,
Jordan Poire notched a pair of goals in the 54
th and 68th minute for Columbia's final two goals.
Columbia finished the match with a 37-3 shot advantage, which included 24 shots on goal.
Flavia Rosado logged two saves to earn the shutout win in goal.
The Cougars will hit the road for their next contest on Tuesday, September 30
th when they travel to AMC member Lindenwood University-Belleville. Game time is set for 2:00 p.m. in Belleville, Ill.
