Women’s Soccer Takes down Mid-America Nazarene, 2-1

Box Score Olathe, Kan. - The Columbia women's soccer team picked up a 2-1 road victory over Mid-America Nazarene University on Wednesday night. The Cougars improve to 3-0 on the young season, while the Pioneers fall to 1-1-1.

The Pioneers jumped ahead first as Kalyn Pfaff found the back of the net in the 30th minute. Sophomore Tiffany Weaver responded with a goal of her own in the 37th minute to knot the score. Laurie Frew assisted on the play. With less than a minute to go in the first half, Frew headed in a perfectly played ball from Molly Burke to put Columbia up 2-1 going into the halftime break. The Cougars will be back at it on Wednesday, September 9th when they travel to Missouri Valley College. Match time is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. in Marshall, Mo.
