Box Score Atchison, Kan. – This evening the Columbia College men's lacrosse team was back in action as they faced off against the Benedictine (Kan.) College Ravens in a KCAC matchup. The Cougars fell to the Ravens by a final score of 14-10. Columbia moves to 2-2 on the season.
The Cougars were able to come out and take the early 4-2 lead after one quarter of play. In the second quarter Columbia would throw in three more goals and only allow the Ravens to score once as the Cougars led 7-3 at the half.
After the break the Ravens were able to find the net five times as they held Columbia scoreless in the third. After three quarters of play, the Cougars were trailing 8-7. In the final quarter each team continued to battled, the Cougars were able to get three goals, however it would not be enough as they fell just short to the Ravens by a final score of 14-10.
For the Cougars, Cooper Heck recorded three goals, Sam Crum also had three goals and one assist, while Carson Morrissey tallied two goals. In addition, Kellen Brechbill added one goal and two assists, Henry Stauffer knocked in one goal, and Jeremiah Lerch added two assists on the night. Evan Richardson was in goal as he had 11 saves in the game.
Columbia College is back on the field Saturday, March 24th when they travel to Montreat, North Carolina to take on the University of the Cumberlands Patriots. The game is set to face off at 12:00 p.m.
