Box Score Davenport, Iowa. – This afternoon the Columbia College men's lacrosse team traveled to Davenport, Iowa to take on the Clarke University Pride in a nonconference matchup. The Cougars defeated the Pride by a final score of 15-7 to move to 5-7 on the season.
Both teams came out ready to play today as there were 11 goals in just the first quarter. Columbia was on top after the first as they led 7-4 over the Pride. After a lot of scoring action in the first, each team was scoreless in the second. At the break the score remained 7-4, Cougars.
In the third, each team began to find the net again. Columbia outscored the Pride 3-2 in the third to hold a 10-6 lead with one quarter remaining. In the fourth quarter, the Pride continued to try to climb their way back into the game, but the Cougars would add five more goals and hold the Pride to just one. Columbia won their third straight game by a score of 15-7.
For the Cougars, Sam Crum had four goals and J.T. Huez had three. In addition, Cooper Heck, Carson Morrissey, Jeremiah Lerch, and Kellen Brechbill each tallied two goals each.
Evan Richardson was in goal today as he made 12 saves in the contest.
The lacrosse team is back in action on Tuesday, April 17th when they host Ottawa University (Kan.). The game is set to start at 7 p.m.
