Box Score Belleville, Ill. – This evening the Columbia College men's lacrosse team traveled to Belleville, Illinois to take on the Lindenwood University-Belleville Lynx in a nonconference matchup. The Cougars dominated the Lynx by a final score of 22-0. Columbia is now 7-1 on the season and 3-0 in conference play.
The Cougars took a little bit of time as they settled into the game. The first goal of the match came from the Columbia side, just over midway through the quarter. Once that first goal found the net, the Cougars lit it up the remainder of the quarter scoring seven more goals. Columbia led 8-0 going into the second quarter. In the second, the Cougars continued to take it to the Lynx as they added another seven goals, going up 14-0 at halftime.
Columbia's dominance continued through the second half as they had their foot on the gas with no sign of backing down. They cruised to victory 22-0. The Cougars outshot the Lynx 48-11 in the match.
Goals were scored by: Tanner Bourisaw (1), Cooper Heck (2), Henry Stauffer (2), Trevor Doren (1), Sam Crum (5), Tyler Dickinson (1), Will Walters (1), Michael Showalter (1), Tyler Parrott (4), Carson Morrisey (3), and Peter Jones (1).
Evan Richardson, Ty Hosler, and Riley Mcdermont each took time in the goal tonight for the Cougars and combined for three saves on the night.
The lacrosse team is back in action tomorrow, April 6th when they play the University of the Cumberlands Patriots in a nonconference matchup. The game is being played in St. Louis, Missouri at Missouri Baptist University. The match will face off at noon.
