Columbia, Mo. – This NAIA national office has announced the fourth NAIA Men's Lacrosse Coaches' Top 10 poll of the 2019 regular season. In just their second season at Columbia College, Coach Ian Wolfe and his lacrosse squad have cracked into the Top 10, ranking at number seven.
The Cougars are currently 7-2 on the season and 3-0 in conference play. They are ranked in the Top 25 nationally in 11 statistical categories. They are sixth in assists/game (7.330) and eighth in shots/game (40.780). They are ninth in three categories: SOG/game (24.220), total assists (66), and total points (177). In addition, they are ranked 11th in four areas: total goals (111), goals/game (12.330), total shots (367), and total shots on goal (218). To wrap up their national rankings they are 21st in total saves (81) and 23rd in saves/game (9.000).
Tyler Parrott leads the team in goals averaging 2.63 a game with a total of 21, Trevor Doren leads in assists averaging 1.25 a game with a total of 10, Sam Crum leads in shots averaging 8.44 with a total of 76, and shots on goal with an average of 5.11 and total of 46, while Ty Hosler protects the net averaging 8.38 saves a game for a total of 67. Crum, Hosler, Parrott, Doren, Cooper Heck, and JT Huez are also ranked in multiple national categories as individuals.
The seventh ranked Cougars are on the road tomorrow as they travel to Ottawa, Kansas to take on Ottawa University in a KCAC matchup. The match will face off at 7 p.m.
