Columbia, Mo. – Columbia College head lacrosse coach Ian Wolfe has announced the signing of Garrett Overton for the upcoming lacrosse season. Overton will be a freshman athletically when he arrives on campus next fall.
Overton, a Lake St. Louis, Missouri native, is a 6'1 defender. He played his prep career at Liberty High School. He was a four year Varsity member in football and lacrosse. For lacrosse he was the most improved player (2016), First Team All-Conference and Defense MVP (2017 and 2018), and 2018 Count on Me award recipient (player who demonstrates integrity both on and off the field). In 2019 he helped his team to being named Gateway Conference Champions. For football he was named GAC All-Conference and Academic All-Conference member (2017 and 2018).
Off the field Overton has Academic Honors Distinction, Cum Laude Distinction, was the winner of Wentzville Rotary Club Scholarship for Dedication to Community Service, and was a 2018 CREC Youth Tour Finalist.
"Garrett is a dynamic athlete and presence on the field," said Coach Wolfe. "He is an aggressive defender that will be able to make an immediate impact for us on the field."
