St. Louis, Mo. - The American Midwest Conference has announced the Player of the Week awards for the week ending on Sunday, October 11^th. For their efforts this past week, Alexander Dukes was named AMC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week. Representing Cougar soccer, Liam Gibbs earned AMC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week honors and Delfina Zolesio Fernandez Blanco grabbed her second AMC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week this season.

Dukes, a junior from Mexico, Mo. won his second individual title in as many races, running the 8K course in 26:45.45. He now owns the top-two fastest 8K times in the conference this season. Dukes helped the team to a second-place team finish at the Border War Championships in Elsah, Ill.

Gibbs, a junior goalkeeper from England, helped the Cougars achieve two conference wins this past week over Missouri Baptist and Hannibal-LaGrange (Mo.) He allowed just one goal in 180 minutes in goal.

Zolesio Fernandez Blanco, a freshman midfielder from Argentina, scored a goal in the 2-1 win against Missouri Baptist, while adding a goal and two assists in the win over Hannibal-LaGrange (Mo.) On the year, she has four goals and two assists.
