MARYVILLE, Mo. - The Columbia College track and field teams opened the 2025-26 season this weekend at the Crimson & Gold Invitational and the Mel Tjeerdsma Classic. On the men's side,
Brenin Howell broke the school record in shot put throwing a 17.08m at the Mel Tjeerdsma Classic, breaking his previous 17.07m throw.
Kalieb Redda finished runner up in the 5k at the Crimson in Gold Invitational with a 14:53.48. For the women,
Montgomery Keck earned the only first place finish of the weekend in the 60m hurdles, posting a time of 9.06 at the Mel Tjeerdsma Classic.
Hailey Gerard also hit the NAIA B-standard in the 5k running a 17:37.12, placing 7th in a field of 36.
Columbia will return to action at the Coach Richard Alsup Open on January 17th in Maryville, Mo.
